Occurrences, isolation, identification and susceptibility of Salmonella sp. in pigeons at Kamrangirchar thana, Dhaka, Bangladesh

Salmonellosis is one of the most common bacterial diseases poultry which have a great detrimental effect. A very few number research previously conducted on occurrence, isolation, identification and susceptibility Salmonella sp. in pigeon at Bangladesh. Therefore present was carried out to determine pigeons Kamrangirchar, Dhaka, total 1559 diseased were examined from first July last August 2019. They grouped, into two categories, according age squabs (0-21 days) adults (>22 days). Fifty (50) samples randomly collected 15 different small-scale farms study area. Fecal live tissue (liver lung) freshly dead birds detect, isolate, identify by Gram’s staining technique after enrichment peptone water followed growth S.S. Agar, X.L.D. Agar simultaneously. The findings revealed that 32 (64%) positive for It also assured farms, 8 infected with salmonellosis consisting 305 pigeons. occurrence area within period 19.56% (305 1559). showed (55.08%) are more susceptible than (44.92%). This time has come take necessary steps save farming.
